DECISION RECORD / 01
Bring the current information status
Identify the project purpose, asset use, appointed organizations and the next decision requiring support. State whether drawings and specifications are approved, under review or incomplete. An undated document list does not establish a dependable baseline.
These answers frame a commercial inquiry. They do not establish a procurement appointment, technical approval or authority to instruct another project participant.
DECISION RECORD / 02
Name the interface and its owner
Useful questions connect a requirement to a package boundary, a responsible party and a needed date. Identify operational constraints early, including information that should move through an approved confidential channel.
The interface-register, reporting and occupied-site guides develop these principles. Sample diagrams and reference photographs illustrate communication; they do not represent measured progress or delivered engineering outcomes.
USEFUL QUESTIONS
Before the next step.
What belongs in an initial commercial brief?
Include the intended use, information status, operating constraints, appointed parties and next decision. State assumptions and identify relevant procurement or governance requirements. Share sensitive plans only through an agreed appropriate channel.
How should package interfaces be recorded?
Identify the boundary, required information, responsible parties and review date. Distinguish supply, installation, connection, testing and acceptance under the actual appointments. Connect the register to current drawings and vendor data.
Who approves a proposed change?
Authority depends on the actual appointments and client governance. Identify the decision-maker and required technical or commercial review before an instruction is issued. Coordination does not create authority to approve another party’s work.
What makes completion information useful?
Agree deliverables by package with the operator and appointed team. Connect relevant product, inspection and operating information to locations or systems. List remaining actions and restrictions rather than treating an unsorted document folder as acceptance.
Bring the brief. Build clarity.
Identify the project purpose, current information status and the decision requiring support. Include operating constraints and the appointed parties at relevant package boundaries.
